welcome!

My name's Sam and here's a lil' about me:

In short, I want to make a positive impact with visual design.

In less short, I'm a firm believer that design is essential to how we see the world and because of this, it completely changes how we see the world. This importance comes with an enormous responsibility to use my skills and passion to make a positive impact, whether that means helping advance a company's image with visual communication, redefining brand culture and identity, uniting activist groups with media techniques, engaging communities with public art and design, or anything in between.

I’m currently a designer at The Washington Post’s internal advertising agency in New York City. I’ve worked across industries and clients from small to large creatives agencies, to tech and entertainment clients, to politics and artivist groups.

I am a graduate from the University of Southern California Roski School of Art and Design, and I spent a semester studying abroad at the University of the Arts London: London College of Communication for Graphic and Media Design. Having grown up in London for 10 years prior to University and now residing in DTLA, my inspiration varies from street art in Shoreditch, London to massive murals and protest posters in Los Angeles, to the unexpected doodle on a newspaper box in my high school town of Raleigh, North Carolina, to empowering web experiences in journalism.
